RIG2025 / Reykjavik Open

RIG2025 or Reykjavik Open will be held on the 25th of January 2025.

Reykjavik Judo Open 2025

Introduction

The National Judo Federation of Iceland will have the Reykjavik Judo Open for the 13th time on the 25th of January 2025. The tournament is for seniors, men and women and is a part of Reykjavik International Games, (RIG) a multi- sport event.

In recent years, we have had competitors from CZE, ESP, FRA, GER, GBR, POL, RUS, SVK, UKR, and of course from the Nordic Countries. Some world class competitors have competed at Reykjavik Judo Open through the years like Jeroen Casse (BEL) Marcus Nyman, Robin Pacek (SWE), David Klammert (CZE), Mathias Madsen (Den) and Olympic Gold Medalist Tagir Khaibulaev (RUS) just to mention few. Seniors (men and women) 15 years old and over (Born in 2010 and before).

Weight categories

Men                 -60, -66, -73, -81, -90, -100, +100 and Open category

Women            -48, -52, -57, -63, -70, -78, +78 and Open category

Weight tolerance

2kg weight tolerance is allowed for each category.

Competition system

Double repechage or pool competition system.

2 entries will be combined with the next weight class above.

3-5 entries single pool, 6-7 entries, double pool.

8 and more entries, repechage competition system.

Match length is 4 minutes.

Blue and white judogis is required.

Every competitor must have an international insurance for injures. No insurance is provided by the organizers.

Participation and Entry

The number of competitors in each weight category, and from each club/federation is unlimited. Minimum grade is 2nd kyu.

Entry form: Send entry form to jsi@jsi.is before entry deadline 13th of January.

Entry fee: Entry fee is 50 euros. Deadline for entry fee payment is 13th of January. Payments are done via following bank account.

Entry fee for training camp: Entry to training camp on the 26th of January is free of charge.
